Apple Impromptu

Prepare 4 cups of apples; pare, core and slice. Place in a well greased 8-9 inch pie pan. Combine 1/4 c. sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle on apples. (Will be fine if you chose to use more sugar and cinnamon according to you taste.) Cover tightly with aluminum foil. Bake in a moderately hot oven at 400 degrees for 20 minutes. Cream butter, remaining sugar and egg. Cream well. Sift together the flour and baking powder. Blend into the creamed mixture. Spread evenly over the apples.
