Pork Chops Supreme
3 Medium Sunrise apples, peeled, cored, quartered and sliced
1 small onion, halved and sliced thin
2 T. lemon juice
1 clove garlic, sliced thin
1 tsp dried thyme
1/2 tsp powdered ginger
salt and pepper to taste
2 T. butter
4 boneless pork chops
1-2 T. maple syrup
Pork Chops Supreme
Gently saute' apples, onion, lemon juice, garlic, thyme, ginger, salt, pepper and butter being careful not to scorch as the garlic will turn bitter. When apples are tender, set all aside. Add pork chops and pepper to taste. Saute on both sides until mostly done. Remove from heat, slice into 1/4" thick strips. Meanwhile, deglaze the pan with lemon juice or white wine. Return meat and apple mixture to pan along with maple syrup. Cook over low heat a few minutes until the pork is done. If desired, thicken with a little cornstarch. Add a little more salt to taste. Serve over egg noodles. A great "autumn" tasting dish!!
