Join Sunrise Orchards in Supporting the Badger Honor Flight
Sunrise Orchards is excited to host a special fundraising event on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at both locations, to support the incredible work of the Badger Honor Flight. On this day, for every half bushel box of Number 2 grade apples sold, Sunrise Orchards will donate $10 to the Badger Honor Flight organization.
The Badger Honor Flight is a regional affiliate of the Honor Flight Network, a national organization dedicated to ensuring that World War II, Korean War, Vietnam War, and terminally ill veterans can visit the memorials dedicated in their honor. This remarkable program covers all transportation and meals for the veterans, providing them with a completely free experience. One of our own, Allen Teach, President and third-generation apple grower at Sunrise Orchards, had the honor of serving as a volunteer guardian on a Badger Honor Flight last year. He accompanied a local Vietnam veteran and was deeply moved by the outpouring of gratitude and respect shown to the veterans.
Allen shared, "Each flight costs about $110,000, and I can think of no better way to honor our veterans than by contributing to this extraordinary experience. The highlight of the trip was witnessing the heartwarming airport welcome home celebration, where hundreds of people gathered to greet the veterans."
To further show appreciation, Sunrise Orchards will also offer two special promotions from Saturday, November 9 thru Monday, November 11:

- A free half dozen plain or sugared donuts as a token of our gratitude.
