A delicious Teach Family recipe!
INGREDIENTS
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (174 degrees C)
In a large bowl, cream the shortening, brown sugar, and egg together until light and fluffy.
In a separate bowl, sift together flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg.
Stir half of the dry ingredients into the creamed mixture.
Stir in apples, nuts, cider/milk and dates.
Then stir in the remaining half of dry ingredients and cider/milk, mix well.
Drop batter by a big tablespoon 2 inches apart on lightly greased cookie sheet.
Bake 10-12 minutes. Remove cookies and place on cooling racks.
GLAZE
Combine powdered sugar, light cream/apple cider, butter, vanilla, and beat until smooth. Drizzle glaze on warm freshly baked cookies.
*If you use apple cider omit vanilla.
